This probably has more to do with who owns comic books, but it just reinforces the impression one gets that we no longer have an equal distribution of intellectual wealth in the USA. In Econ 101 I learned that an economy does well when there are many different competitors, not fewer. Why? Because the consumer, more than likely, will get better prices and be inclined to purchase more.
Not so today. Our economy is imploding upon itself and gobbling itself up like a Thanksgiving turkey, if he or she were a cannibal (sorry for the TG reference, but I am a vegetarian). The “bright side,” in my feeble mind, however, is the fact that we “independent” publishers and authors will now have a way to sell our stuff to an audience fed up with the Pablum spewed forth from these monolithic sources of politically correct and censored books.
Go Indies! Rah, rah, raw!
