Paranormal Synchronicity

Dear Subscriber,

First, a little poem I wrote about being an artist:

ARTIST’S EYES

Artist's Eyes

Rise, like all humans, but be aware!
Thoughts, like rabid hamsters,
Spinning in a cage of poisonous cheese,
The tangible death and joy zipping past their heads
In a free fall of delight and agony.

You must choose, mustn’t you,
Between the agony of the everyday,
The quests for fame and fortune,
Or the maudlin verities
Of one-step-at-a-time ennui and actual
Reality.

It seems the drama always wins out,
Even though you try to be normal,
Try to wrap your body and mind into eating cereal,
Drinking coffee, and passing it all down the toilet,
Where everything seems to go these days.

But, the light of creativity, that holy shroud that
Basks within you, as if it were indeed the holy shroud
That covers genius in every profession, comes forth
Once more. You radiate within, but nobody sees it. Yet.

When the pages begin to flow, the jewels start to shine,
And the pains and struggles leap on the page, in prose or in poem,
Life starts to make you into the vessel you were always meant
To be.

Your age, your past, and your agonies, fade into the day,
Or night, and you become one with the artistic expression.

Then, a little bit about the Jungian concept of “synchronicity.”

A friend and artist of this painting, Katharine Louise Frost Hemingway, and I, were discussing the issues about insight and artistic expression. I remembered the story by Tillie Olsen I Stand Here Ironing as my friend Katharine’s surreal painting had as one focus a woman ironing. Funny thing. Katharine doesn’t iron in “real life.” But everything came together, as if by coincidence. But it became much deeper than that.

Ironing

In the story, it was revealed about an outcast little girl named “Emily.” The connections were made between Katharine, myself, the story, and real and intimate life secrets! All of reality was connected, and it is so miraculous I wanted to cry out in joy! This is what artists live for. The Jungian magical connections. Katharine, by the way, does this for her clients who want a portrait done of a loved one who has passed or still living. Just the photo can help her channel an insightful view into this person’s connected soul to everything.

Perhaps you have a similar experience to share?

So many daughters (and sons) who go missing through the cracks of our attention these days as parents. So sad. But it’s glorious when we hear and see it in an artist’s vision. Tillie and Katharine.
